As the 5-12 director, you will direct four (4) ensembles within the district. There is additional time built into the daily schedule for individual/group lessons with students. The Wheaton Area School District seeks a visionary PreK-12 Principal to lead our dynamic educational community, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student success.  As a PreK-12 Principal, you will serve as the educational leader and administrator managing staff, implementing curriculum and ensuring the overall safety and success of our schools.  The position is a 210-duty day contract with a salary range of $80,000-$100,000 dependent upon experience and a competitive benefit package.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee curriculum development and ensure alignment with state and district standards.
  • Support teachers with instructional strategies, professional development, and evaluation.
  • Monitor student progress and implement data-driven decision making for academic improvement.
  • Promote a positive school culture focused on student learning and achievement.
  • Oversee scheduling and assignments.
  • Handle student discipline, attendance, and enforce school policies along with a part-time Teacher on Special Assignment.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, parents, community members, and the board of education.

Qualifications:

  • MN Principal Certification
  • Leadership experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with multi-grade instruction
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions quickly
  • Have organizational oversight
  • Ability to foster community partnerships that enhance student opportunities
  • Have excellent written and oral communication
  • Understanding of school laws, rules and regulations, including special education and due process.
  • Knowledge of budget and financial operations, processes and procedures.
